How To Change Your Life In 2012|

Note: This is a guest post from M.Farouk Radwan  founder of http://www.2knowmyself.com

At the beginning of the New Year maybe you wrote your New Year resolutions only to stop pursuing them a few weeks later.how to change your life

The enthusiasm that you developed during the first few days of the year can easily disappear as time passes.

In order, to change your life and make 2012 a really different year you need to change your habits. You need to make sure that you don’t only stick to your plans but that you also do things that you have never done before.

There is a quote that I like a lot which says “If you want to get what you never had, then you must do what you have never done before.”

This means that 2012 is not going to be any different than the past few years until you make serious changes.

Do you want to know how to do this? Then read further.

How to really change your life

In order to know how to change your life you must first understand how your subconscious mind works.

Your subconscious mind works like a separate entity that has nothing to do with you. This means that to convince your subconscious mind to believe in your plans you first need to show it that you are serious about them.

Consider your subconscious mind a friend of yours who watches over you. If it found you serious enough it will send you motivating signals. While if it found you procrastinating or not taking things seriously then it will resist you…

In short if you want to get help from your subconscious mind you need to take serious actions by:

1)      Writing down your plans. Writing your plans shows your subconscious mind exactly what you are focused to do and achieve.

2)      Committing to your plans. Sounds like  logical advice but in fact real commitment is all about sticking to your goals even if you are feeling bad, sad, down or even depressed. People who don’t get this fact always wait for their mood to improve and as a result they don’t make any progress.

3)      Taking serious actions. Do things that you have never done before, push yourself to your limits, find creative answers to your old problems and do whatever it takes to show your subconscious mind that you are serious. Don’t tell…do. Take action.

4)      Being patient. Have belief that you will achieve all that you want. Wait it out. Slowly your subconscious mind will respond to the positive information you feed it. After a while, you will obtain your goals and change your life.

Start anywhere.

Start now.

Most importantly, believe in yourself.

  1. This year I have committed to Jamie Eason’s 12 week live fit, fittness program, to try to build more muscle, especially in my back. SO far it’s going really well , and I really think I can do the full 12 weeks:-) Thanks for all the great advice!

  2. I love this. I have not been following through with my New Year’s goals so I have started to exercise in the threadmill and then do Tai Chi for about 15-20 minutes in order to establish new habits. I like the confirmation I recieved from this post!

  3. I was never a resolutions kind of person, more of a goal setter. What I do is write down my goals that I want to achieve, figure out my action plan to achieve then and lastly take action. You are right about the subconscious mind Farouk, if you can’t get that part in alignment with what you want it is nearly impossible to make your desired changes.

  4. thanks Justin
i am glad to see you around:)
i am like you, i do set goals with disregard to time but each new year feels like a new beginning and motivates me to write new plans or to revise old ones :)

  5. I love looking back over the year just gone and seeing what I’ve achieved. That might be things I’ve done, places I’ve been, habits I’ve changed but they are all things I am pleased with. That is my preferred way of encouraging me to stick with my ideas and plans for the year ahead.

    • You are welcome girl. Go with the flow of things, and when the times are hard just know that good times are very near… Wish you the very best. As for procrastination, try baby steps. Works for me always ;)
